Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

This post is just my girls.

Wren all dressed up ready for her Christmas program at school.  It ended up not being anything Christmasy, but she had fun playing the straw seller in the 3 little pigs.  "straw for sale" "straw for sale"  And she got to wear blush and stand up in front of everyone.  She didn't look near this cute cause they put overalls on her for the play.  Oh well she was mighty pleased with her fuzzy shirt and new boots with a heel. She already had the skirt.

Looking out to see if the bus is coming.  I liked the silhouette.

Waiting....and drawing in the steamy window.

After the program, they had snacks for all the parents and kids.  Wren's teacher is the lady in the black shirt on the far right.

Some of Wrens friends.  She is SO tall!!  What happened to tiny Asian people?  This girl has some tall genes!  I think these girls are a little younger than her, but she is still tall for her age.

 Papaw and his tiny girl.

His comment "she's so precious and so perfect"  Yep, no arguments here.

Iley ready for her program.  She got to wear her outfit and looked super cute.....except that she was in about the fourth row and all you could see was her face.  Oh well she loved her fuzzy shirt and sparkly skirt that twirled. She has Wren's boots from last year, so didn't get new boots.

These were from yesterday.  Troy had left and taken the boys to Kansas to meet Grandpa and Grandma D. to head to OH early.  So the girls and I were left home alone.  They always stand fascinated, watching me put on make up, so I asked them if they wanted me to put it on them.  YES! They said.   But this is scary!!!  I can see this kind of selfie in about 4 years :(  ack!  Daddy get your gun!  These girls are gonna be gorgeous.  I took  their glasses off so I could see their eyes.  I love love love their little Asian eyes.

Wren kept squinting her eyes shut......she is so hard to get a natural picture of......so I told her to open her eyes.......like this mom?  Ok never mind!  We better start saving for braces too.  Wren has a serious over bite and Iley's are all over the place.

This is my favorite, so of course it's the one that's blurry :(

Christmas at our House

Hey......anyone......I can't see the pictures over here.

It's ok sissy, I'll look at them for you.

Nuggets.  This is what he says everytime he sees a Mc D's sign.

Dancing with Big Brother Ash in the kitchen.  We spent our time running non cookers out of the kitchen.  We had LOTS of nibblers........but less cooks.

We were blessed to have Micah and Carrie here for our Christmas too.  They flew in to Denver on their way home from Washington, and rode home with Ash and Ella to KS.

Sister time :) She loves her big sisters.

 Dawsyn with Aunt "tate"

 Harrison

Teaching Iley how to play solitaire on my phone.  I decided it was a fun way for them to learn how to sequence numbers.

Brentley loves to "cook" and just carry around cups and plates and pretend to eat or feed you.

Iley was super pleased with her stuffed puppy and pet carrier.

Wren got a tool box with a paint brush, bungee straps, rope and pulley and hooks.

Pleased with his exotic blueberry and orange rootbeer.

I'm telling Wren it's for your hair.

There are no pictures of Ella because I put her in charge of taking the pictures, and Finn was sleeping, and Ash was sitting right beside her, but they were there too!  I wish I would have stolen the camera and got them in some.  I was covered in girls most of the time though.

Thanksgiving with the Deatons

Sorry this is a pathetic amount of pictures to show everything that went on that weekend.  Every single Child and grandchild (except our newest one waiting in Ukraine, we miss you Kolya!) was here in Q-town.  We were celebrating 50 years of marriage with Mom and Dad Deaton, and eating lots of Turkey and the trimmings......and just eating a lot period.  I didn't have a lot of time to take pictures, One of my small children was in continual meltdown mode, just too much change, too little of my attention, fear of no one liking them, eating too much sugar while mom wasn't watching, maybe emotions about being back in our old town?, so that took a lot of my mental energy. Then there were 3 grandbabies that NEEDED kissed and held.  These pictures were all taken after church on Sunday. Terry Wolf came over and photographed the whole mob. Not a job for the inexperienced, or faint of heart. Thanks Terry for taking the time to do that!

We had lots of together time, laughs, cries, exasperation, laughs, forgiveness, love, family.  We visited a huge dairy one day and got to see how that operation ran.  The little kids were bored, but the older kids and adults really enjoyed it.  Then we all descended en mass on the local Chinese restaurant....probably scarred the poor people for life!  No really everyone did pretty well except for the afore mentioned melt downer.....and I think she mostly just annoyed her mother by pouting and huffing.  We've outgrown grandmas house, so we were fortunate to rent a really nice building in town.  Thanks Brenton for loaning out this building to so many.

The whole darling bunch :)  This is all the grandchildren, Minus our dear boy waiting in Ukraine.  Next time we will have him in here too :)  I love that our family has grown not just in size but in experience, and culture, and in heart size!  We are blessed.
So I would say to Mom and Dad Deaton, "Thank you for raising 4 wonderful sons! and Thank you for loving all of us daughters in law.....We've brought drama, challenges, change,  and a whole lotta kiddos into your midst."  We love you.
