Wren's 8th Birthday, Party at School

I can't believe she's 8! 

 They've been home almost 3 years now.  The time has flown by...........and crept.......depending on the day and it's challenges.  We are so thankful for this smart, beautiful, loving, fun little girl.  She's a fighter, a lover of life, and a very opinionated little person.  

For her party at school, I took pigs in a blanket, nacho cheese and Ice cream cups from D.Q. with caramel and chocolate toppings.  I think it went over really well!

 She didn't give him a bite, but she did lean in close enough for a picture with him.

And this creepy critter was hanging out in the back of the room.  Ella actually sat right behind it with her plate, all but touching the thing! I wouldn't have been able to eat a bite.  Makes me shiver.

Musical Concert

Of course we know who was directing the show with much flair and pomp, many hand waivings and all of the theatrical effects needed to direct a full orchestra.........of one.
  And of course we know who.....let her.

 Even though her orchestra got distracted by her children occasionally, she didn't let that stop her.

Warm Days in January

The girls were playing outside, peacefully, happily, being princesses or something...........

 

 not sure what the cape is about.....

 

 Then all of a sudden, out of nowhere.....an armed bandit attacked their castle, tied them up....

 

  ......amidst much shrieking and protest.

 

Then I find random assortments of things collected.  It's all mostly cohesive....you know, food related......except for the socks and the motorcycle?? Although I don't understand the need to save your dilly bar wrapper!

 Sunday was a lovely warm day so it called for a WALK!  Troy was busy doing other things, and the boys declined, as they thought dirt bike riding seemed more fun....whatever.......so it was just Me and the girls.

 Running down a hill is always better if you scream while doing it!

 

 Headed back to the car.  They were a little leery of the big black dog that joined us.  He was the property owners' dog, and quite friendly, but he was big.  Do you see him way up in front?

I am always amazed, that even though they fuss at each other occasionally, it never lasts long, and  the majority of the time, they get along SO well.  We are thankful every day that we have 2!

 

 This one cracks me up!  Look at both of their expressions!

 This is what Wren took for sharing.  She LOVES her shoes! And this is still her favorite dress up dress.  Mrs. Kay said she took her dress and shoes up to the front of the room, looked around, and promptly put her dress over the teacher's stool, then got two clips from the white board and clipped it up.  Something like this.  She had her display all planned out.  I can just see her give a bow and an arm wave and "present" her ensemble with a ta da type sweep.  Her problem solving skills are AMAZING!  IF ONLY.,.....she would apply the same creativity to learning LANGUAGE........I wouldn't want to tear my hair out as often.

 The other night I braided Wrens hair in one big braid down the back.  As soon as I was done, she hopped down and started singing "Let it Go" from the Frozen movie!  I laughed outloud!!  She had every hand motion and attitude down to a T.  You could almost tell what she was singing too.  She took her braid and wrapped it around the front with a dramatic flair, and signed snow.

 They were behind the curtains, looking out the window. Not quite as hidden as they believed :)

 A sister is a forever friend...a playmate....some one who "gets" you, who laughs at the same things....

AND
.....a partner in crime!  They don't look a bit ornery do they?
