Ready, Aim, FIRE!

Why that title?  You will understand in a little while......stay with me :)

Meanwhile, let me take you on a journey of our crazy Sundays........the day of rest.......mmmhmm.......rest for who?  and from what exactly?  But.......I KNOW I'm gonna miss these days!  Crazy as they are!

Breakfast....leftover noodles from supper, scrambled with their eggs.......served to each other noodle by noodle.

First we always start with church.  Home church......at our home.  That scenario has it's ups.......we dont' have to get ready quite as early because we don't go anywhere, comfy chairs, coffee, and great people to fellowship with......and it's downs......the house needs a little extra attention before........and after everyone hits.

Today we had everyone contribute to lunch........We originally had a picnic planned, but in Kansas, you have to readjust your scheduled plans around the wind.....some people put plan B in place because of rain.........wait......what IS rain again?  So we had a "picnic" translated......bring whatever you have to contribute, if you're staying.......kind of lunch.  We ended up with 14.

Not including the ones small enough to tuck under your chin.....we had 2 of those.

Then because the wind died just a little, and it was a lovely 80* we headed here again :)

Playing in the dirt while we waited for Thatch and Kyn to join us.

Brentley's first nature walk.........I don't think he got much out of it!

 Aren't they too cute :)

Off ahead......feeling more adventurous this time....as they were more familiar.

The last time we were here, we found this little "house"  I told them we would come back and find a table and chairs to fix up their house.

They were as pleased with it as they would have been with a Pottery Barn set!..........maybe more so.

 Thatch......and Brentley.......hauling in another chair.

Roasting a hot dog over the fire.

Now put it on the plate.

Now time to eat. "STOP!  We have to pray first" says Iley.

Blow it cause it's still hot.

 Back up the hill again.

I was informed to stay down there, until they said I could come up. This was a chummy moment....Wren waited for Iley to catch up, and grabbed her hand.

 .
Making chunks of dirt fall down the ledge.

Grandpa giving Dad a break from packing the little man.

uh oh........some jobs can't wait............

He was NOT impressed with nature at this point!

And babies never pick convenient times, or places to decide it's time to eat.  We tried to make her as comfy as the surroundings allowed.

Back "home" again.........time for another snack after climbing that hill.

Fixing Wren's hair......it was getting wild.

A dinner of leaves anyone?

A little salt?

I have no idea what was being "discussed" here.  They have a crazy connection that doesn't need much language.

Testing.........testing............

Ready..................

Ok.......load it up.

 Aim.............

 FIRE!!!!

They did this over and over!

Wren came up with the idea........figured out how it worked, managed to get the idea across to Iley......with very little words/signs exchanged..........and then got bored with it.  Iley kept at it, and didn't want to leave.   Wren can visualize something and carry it out.  She is SO smart!  Iley is clever and charming........but not practical.  Love their different personalities! Wren is definitely the leader most of the time.  She wants to be in charge at all times so she knows the rules.  She hates to fail.  Iley is pretty easy going.........(except when she's NOT).........but usually doesn't have the visualization that Wren does.   They compliment each other so well!  God did NOT make a mistake putting these two together.  They are so much fun to watch on outings like this.
