Hmmmmm?  Yes Hmmmm........because I have no idea what to title this random bunch of pictures.

Iley and Wren "painting" their fingernails with markers.

Another walk in the pasture, enjoying the beautiful spring time weather.

Iley.....who had already voiced her opinion....."lets go home" usual.......found a place to sit.
....and if Iley gets her picture taken.....then Wren wants hers taken.....which makes Iley want hers taken........

......which makes Wren grumpy that Iley stole her show..........
But she never holds a grudge long:)  I did her pouty face back to her and signed smile with a goofy pouted at gave me a goofy grin.......oh well:)
The boys went by on their motorcycles and Wren is signing "motorcycle" and then she signed for them to stop!  They both LOVE to ride with the boys, but they have to have jeans on to protect their they didn't get the ride home they were hoping for.

Of all the nerve!!! they didn't stop!!!

Two girls that were awfully glad their daddy was still home this morning:)

We go from mo hawks to skin heads........!!!????  Just hair, it will grow, just hair it will grow, just hair it will big deal.

A really really good Read! And some cute pictures:)

I will give you a few  pictures......then please read the story below.  It's so good!  Whether you have adopted, know some one who has, or are just a Christian struggling along lifes path.

Trying so hard to get a drink from a too tall fountain!  It went up their nose, on their glasses, down the front, everywhere but in their mouth.

Love this one:) Doesn't it just say 6 yrs. old:)

READ THIS, you won't be sorry:)

We went to watch the African Children's Choir last night.  SO darling!  Harrison commented that their bones must be made of wire...their blood must be Red Bull, and they have serious Botox, cause they never stopped smiling.  They had rhythm and energy and moves that were crazy!  They were just precious.  At the end they thanked us for wanting to adopt them, but said they were all going home to try to make Africa a better place and spread the Gospel:) Wow!

On the way in...the wind was FIERCE!  Ella was hanging on to all her clothing that threatened to fly away.

Ash thought she needed a little help......I think it was just an excuse to get cozy??? But she didn't seem to mind;)

All these Big Kids are so much help with the girls and such a blessing to me!  Wren or Iley one sat on Thatch's lap most of the show.....some of the time on Ella's lap, and one was always on mine.

Harrison and Sherman were here too, but they had ridden with Ricks and were running around with Caleb.

And a few random ones just because they're all so good lookin....and I love em to pieces.  Ash and Ella brought supper over Wednesday eve.  SO SWEET!  Kyndahl brought cake and tea.  I love these sweet daughters of mine...and their big hunky husbands.

Kyndahls momma Suzy came too.

We got this sweet card in the mail from Spencer and Caroline:)

This family shares our Gotcha Day.....they were the other family with our agency, and sat on the adjoining bench meeting their little Caroline.  We will have a special bond forever with all the families we connected with at this amazing time.  Thank you Spencer for your thoughtfulness!  The girls loved your card!

This is a paper Wren brought home this week from school.  Her teacher said she did it all with no help!!!!  Pretty amazing:)

The girls were LOVING the kindergarten room at orientation day!  NEW toys!

Of COURSE Wren loved the shopping cart!  You can haul so MUCH stuff at one time.

Then we went to DQ for supper.  I think Wren finally connected the DQ sign with the D and Q we sign when we go there:) YAY!

Ok......I lied.........that was more that a few pictures:(

Gotcha Day! One Year!

It's hard to believe that one year from today we were anxiously waiting to see two little faces.  When we did finally get a glimpse of them, they were headed to the bathroom! (imagine that) We were filling out paperwork, and it was pretty hard to concentrate after that!  You can go back and read the whole story here~

They were so tiny, and so darling, and we were so much in love.

This one was snapped on the way out the door to go visit the orphanage.

Wow what a long way we've come in one year. Recognize this dress!  Wren wore it in China!  Iley is just a little smaller than Wren was a year ago.  They have both grown so much!  Physically, socially, language, academically, coordination, strength, reasoning, bonding wise...they amaze us!
May 2012 Wren weighed: 37lbs and was 41 3/4" tall
May 2013 Wren Weighs:   44lbs and is    44-5/8" tall (3-1/4" and 7lbs in a year!)
May of 2012 Iley weighed; 29lbs and was  37-3/4" tall
May of 2013 Iley Weighs:  36lbs and is  40-5/8" tall (3" and 7lbs in a year!)

I will always remember the surreal feeling and a bit of panic when we walked out of the civil affairs office with two 5 year old girls that didn't speak or understand a word of that's not true, Iley could say Mamma, Babba, and sing the ABC's to about G.  But we were entrusted with two little lives, and we were a just slightly overwhelmed.  I can't imagine how they must have felt leaving with two total strangers.  As much as they liked us... and the stuff we brought, they reached for the familiar nannies when we got up to leave.  They whimpered a little, but soon got over it.  We had prayed for months before meeting them for God to comfort them with His spirit, and for them to recognize that spirit in us, and not be afraid.  God did not fail us....or them!  He was right by our side then, and continues to be.  I remember shutting myself in the bathroom and praying, and weeping, and begging for wisdom.  It didn't make it easy, but it made it possible.  A friend sent some index cards with Bible verses on them that about saved my life some days.  We held on to the truth that What God calls us to, HE will equip us for it as well.  He will never leave us nor forsake us, but wants to give us hope and a future.  When we are weak, HE is strong.  Following Gods call, and His will is usually not the easiest route to follow, but it is always worth it in the end.

The......wild uncontrolled, scared, confused.......little girls we had in China, are now fairly well adjusted, Lively, loud, mostly happy, much loved siblings and daughters.  Redeemed, chosen, no longer orphans, but belong to a family.  I can hardly think about them living in an orphanage for 5 years, fending for themselves, survival of the fittest, with no one to love them, watching other kids leave with their families.  We are so thankful they are HOME.

Wren~  She is Joyful, generous, loving, smart, helpful to a fault some days, and OH so STUBBORN.
She is learning more and more sign language and environmental sounds each day.  She recognizes her name when called.  She loves people, and going places, She hates to fail. Her favorite food is meat in any form, and rice and noodles.  She rarely eats dessert except for Ice cream.  She loves to watch any kind of Media, video games, movies, cartoons......any type of visual stimulation.    She gets up with the birds, goes strong all day, and is the first one to sleep at night.  She loves playing outdoors, and is fearless.  She has taught me MUCH patience, and continues to.  She has been a challenge...... and a joy to watch unfold.  We are looking forward to knowing her better as her vocabulary and communication increase.

Iley~ is Charming, loving, bossy, dramatic, funny, a tease and stubborn sometimes as well.  Her English is improving daily.....although we still turn off the dark, and turn on the dark, instead of light.  But we have to watch what we say in front of her now, because she understands most of it.  She loves music, and being read to.  She is more of a home body, but likes familiar people.  She gets worried about where mommy is if I'm gone too long.  She loves to play games on the ipad, and will watch movies if they are basic and she can understand them (Wren will watch anything! Even basket ball or baseball)  She is silly, goofy, cute, and a DRAMATIC, she prefers comfort at all times if possible.  She loves all things sweet, and loves her noodles and rice.  She eats meat if she has to. They both love eggs.

We love them both so much.  They are totally different in personality and temperament, but seem to "get each other most of the time.  They are either best of friends or can't look at each other with out scratching and spitting.  It's hard to imagine life without them now.  They've been such a blessing, bringing much joy while stretching us and growing us  in ways we never dreamed.  Bringing us closer to God as we have reached out in thanksgiving.......and desperation for wisdom.  Would we do it again?  ABSOLUTELY!  In fact we hope to.....Lord willing.

Happy Gotcha Day sweet girls we are so glad God chose us to be your family.

The Blessing of Family preschool.  The girls are home all day.  I was so thankful for warm weather........and  Grandma.........who  called and said let me come get the girls for a few hours while you relax.....or get some things done...or whatever....YES maam!  No arguing here:)

A few "YES!!!" moments this weekend.....were....Wren going to the fridge and opening the door and asking for ham!  She waved her hand no at the eggs, and signed Ham!  She initiated it, knew what she wanted, and asked for it.  I had to tell her the ham was all gone:(  Then Saturday evening Troy and I had a date to get groceries......very romantic hmm?......but I'll take it:)......I had signed and explained to both of them that Mommy and Daddy were going to town, and they were going to stay at Grandmas house.  She signed most of it back to me, and I said yes.....and she nodded ok.  Then thought a moment and signed car (or made a motion like you were driving) and I said yes, drive the car to Grandmas....she nodded again like she understood.  When we got out at Grandmas, we talked a little and they waved bye at us, like I thought you were leaving....get on with it.....then Wren signs "town, Mommy, Daddy"  and points to herself and signs "stay here"   YES!!!!!  Folks......we are getting somewhere finally!!!!  Please keep praying that she will learn to sign fluently, AND listen and HEAR and understand speech......and ultimately, speak!  Please Lord!

Saturday Grandpa was planting trees outside our front door.  Wren was VERY interested in every step of the process....digging, watering, riding on the tractor......just let me outside!

The cat...Iley was inside....she was so mad here.....her marker lid would not come off!.....and mom wouldn't help her......mean isn't it!  All she needed to do was to stand up, take about two steps, and SAY..."mom can you help me please"  She is completely able.....but instead was thrashing around on the floor and whining.  When she gets to this point, she's totally unreasonable.......and stubborn!  I kept saying.....fussing won't get the lid off.......bring it to mommy and use your words.  Mom would love to help you............I think she was having more fun feeling sorry for herself!  She finally DID (probably an hour at least later) come ask me, and I cheerfully took it off and told her GOOD GIRL for using your words......she was so pleased with herself, you'd a thought it was her idea in the first place!

Sunday morning......waiting on breakfast......banned from the working area of the kitchen for lack of room, and the seeming need to be between the person working, and the counter.......... they were commiserating with each other in the chair over their mean unfair treatment........and got to entertaining themselves.  They were "reading" the bible with a black light......not sure what was going on exactly, but Iley was amused.

Later.....after an awesome message from David can watch it here.....  We were waiting on lunch to finish cooking, sitting outside enjoying the beautiful weather....which is supposed to end more rain, and possibly snow.......sob.

After realizing they were blocking part of the crew on the table...Ash and Ella did a dancing side step.
Ash gave us his best pose.......and Ella was like .....yep he's crazy....whadda ya do about it.

 Everybody......and the dogs.

Beauty, being kissed by the heathen......who she's rather partial to in spite of his lack of taste in hair styles.

But we love the heathen anyway.......even if we aren't in love with his hair......just thankful that it's just hair, and it will grow back.....and hair does not define who he is.  He loves his little sisters, and they love him!  They were "helping him" Wren was pulling his head down, and pushing his hand up...Iley was just highly amused! his strawberry shortcake......that Ella brought:)
Here, let me help too says Iley.

Wren lost a tooth during services...... it caused such a distraction we had to stop the video in order to  properly admire it......and let her check out the gap in the mirror....and stop the bleeding...... before moving on.

We had a slight mishap with this pair.....some rough housing gone awry.....and her glasses got broken, and her head had a bump.  She was nursing it with some ice, and relishing the attention!  It might have almost been worth the bump on the noggin to be made over, and poor honeyed!  We super glued the glasses, and are going to make a run to Wally World in the morning to get another pair.

Although Iley was getting a huge bang out of this........we had to stop it for fear of the swing set falling apart!  The whole thing was swaying, and the swing was sagging a bit.

Scout is hard to get a picture of!  She is always on the go!

Wren was trying to get Iley to ride down on her shoulders!! NOT a good idea.

This didn't work out much better for them.

She climbed up here by herself.....smug much?

The guys had a fierce game of basketball.....Troy and Ash against Ike and Thatcher.....Ike and Thatch won.

Just a swingin

LOVE all these faces!

They just look a bit like chicken combs.........can't say I love the haircuts...nope.....but I DO love the silly boys!

Perched in the middle of everything.........their favorite spot to be!
